Dance Benefit Performance

Hannah had two dance performances on Saturday! Her Miracles in Motion (MiM) class was joined by professional and pre-professional dancers who produced a benefit program. All proceeds go towards a scholarship fund for children to participate in MiM. Each MiM dancer had a partner/buddy for their portion of the show. Hannah was perfectly matched with Sheena. Over the course of three rehearsals they built a solid friendship. The final performances included a variety of pieces from the other dance ensembles and some solo pieces as well. Hannah got to come sit in the audience to watch the bulk of the show, and then return to the stage for a final bow. The girl loves the stage, that's for sure!

Here are some snippets from the rehearsal last week.

My Miracle in Motion

Hannah's dance pictures are here! They took a lot, mostly when she was in her T-shirt and leggings (the ensemble "uniform"). She had lots of fun at the photo shoot. The photographer was generous with his time and patience, since all the dancers have special needs. We received all of Hannah's pictures (40+) on a disk, for only $25. Can't beat that! I know that usually dance photos are crazy expensive!

Dance Revolution

Today was Parent Observation Day at Hannah's Miracles in Motion class. This is a multi-age dance movement class for children with special needs. Most of the students in the class have Down syndrome, and range in age from 5-17 (though the instructor's little boy is almost 3 and he participates too!).

The class works on balance and gross motor skills through dance. They are working out some choreography for one of the songs in High School Musical.

And here's our Twister!
(We always knew she was a natural disaster!)
